HOTEL DATA CONFERENCE | AUGUST 2024
Hit the Road
For the 16th anniversary of Hotel Data Conference (HDC), I conceptualized and pitched a road trip theme, as a play off of turning 16 in the U.S. and getting your driver's license. The connection of the theme to the industry is unmatched, as tourism and travel help drive hotel demand.

COLOR PALETTE
The 2024 color palette for HDC was based on the two gradients used in the logo. I brightened up those colors for the palette, to portray the excitement and care-free vibes of road trip memories. I determined teal would be added in and used as the main color,
to resemble the sky on a nice day and destinations with calming water.
PROMOTIONAL ASSETS
My vision behind the assets was to take the attendees on a road trip, with the conference being a final destination. When thinking of a traditional road trip, retro and vintage are vibes that are often associated. A successful conference should portray future-thinking, innovation and up-to-date technology. With Polaroid cameras making a comeback, I used the Polaroid concept to bridge the gap between nostalgia and modernization and the team even brought Polaroids to the conference to use as social images during the conference.

ON-SITE SIGNAGE
My inspiration for the way finding signage were to resemble various signs you would see on a road trip. After various concepts on room signs, I decided to designate each room a destination type that people travel for: forests, beaches, cities, mountains, deserts & lakes. I worked with vendors to construct unique signs with budget-friendly materials.
